The past three Saturday evenings I have been journeying out with the Evangelism Teams to West Port which is a Bar and Night club area in Kansas City, Mo.
Two weeks ago it was raining Cats & Dogs and we prayed it would stop raining from inside the shuttle(there were only four of us who believed we could evangelize that night). It rained harder and then one of the leaders said he belived the LORD told him it would be in the second window the rain would stop. We prayed and as we finished IT STOPPED RAINING! WOW! We headed out for an awesome night of street evangelism. It was KC Chiefs Football night and there were quite a few in the bars. Our first stop was two guys who were fairly lit up. As we spoke with them they said they were saved and “accepted” by the LORD. We asked if they would like prayer for anything they said yes so we huddled up and prayed. One of them prayed that we would be fruitful that night. what a scene four guys huddled up in prayer on the street!
This past Saturday there were 14 of us that went down in the shuttle. Most of the others were students from Forerunner Intensive Evangelism School. We prayed and had quite a wonderful time of prayer for our preparation to witnessing. It was decided that we would hold a “church” meeting right on the street. So we ended up with “open air preaching”. This was incredible it was like the light of Christ was shining on the street with us. We were right in front of a bar and prayed for those who asked going in and coming out. I actually had a woman come to me and ask for a tract. WILD!
The thing that is the toughest for me is all the believers who seem to find a greater fellowship in a bar than they do at “church”. One man asked if we would pray that God would be more real to him. As we prayed he said he felt the presence of God like never before in his five years of going to “church”. What was really cool about this was this guy was one of the few who actually wasn’t drunk! So it was quite the scene to see the street team go after their calling. We all felt the glory of the LORD and the joy of sharing Jesus!
